ABOUT ME

Hey there! I'm Gwynne Olsen, and I'm the proud owner of Silver Lining Soap. Let me take a moment to share my story with you and how I ended up on this amazing journey of creating artisanal soaps.

First and foremost, I am a home-birth mom and wife of five incredible kids who bring immeasurable joy to my life. They are my everything and the driving force behind everything I do.

After graduating from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Graphic Design, I embarked on a career at Nova Musik, a renowned Milwaukee-based electronic music store. As a graphic designer and photographer, I poured my creative energy into my work, and it paid off. Several of my designs were featured in magazines and books around the world, giving me a taste of what it feels like to see my creations touch people's lives.

Growing up in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, and Shorewood, I lived a life filled with adventure and exploration. Rock climbing, yoga, fashion design, and attending every fun music show in the area during the 2000s became part of my identity. I've always had a slightly crunchy side, a deep love for creativity, and an unyielding desire to bring happiness to those around me.

A pivotal moment came when I moved from Shorewood, WI to the Miami, FL area in 2012 for a decade. Surrounded by vibrant art shows and the enchanting Wynwood Walls, I couldn't help but be swept away by the colors and inspiration that surrounded me. During this time, I became an active and highly contributive member of the Young At Art Museum, sharing the wonders of art with my children.

As a stay-at-home mom, I yearned to do more for myself and my family. That's when the idea struck me like a bolt of lightning. Drawing from my artistic background and the desire to create something meaningful, I started making soap at home. What began as a hobby quickly transformed into a deep-seated passion.

For years, I dedicated myself to honing my craft, perfecting my soap-making techniques, and experimenting with different ingredients and scents. The response from friends and family was overwhelmingly positive, and it became evident that I had stumbled upon something extraordinary. People loved my soap!

With this confirmation, I knew I had to find a way to turn my passion into something more. So, I decided to share my creations with the world by establishing Silver Lining Soap. It was a leap of faith, but I was determined to follow my dreams and provide others with the same joy and delight that my soaps had brought to those closest to me.

At Silver Lining Soap, we craft each bar with love, care, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Every soap is a testament to my passion for creativity, infused with the vibrant colors and artistry that have shaped my journey. Our mission is simple - to make people happy, one lather at a time.
